Background of Sephiroth

Sephiroth is the main antagonist of the video game Final Fantasy VII and its remake. Once lauded as the greatest superhuman SOLDIER who ever lived, he was driven to insanity after learning of the experimentation done on him by the Shinra corporation. Having shifted focus to saving the planet and becoming a god, Sephiroth used his ruthless swordsmanship, powerful magic, and psychic abilities to achieve his goals, at whatever cost.

Sephiroth wields the Masamune, a 7-foot long katana that he can summon at will. He uses the Masamune to brutally slay his enemies, and can also use it to conjure energy waves.
