Background of Reaper

Reaper, originally known as Gabriel Reyes, is a damage hero in Overwatch. As Reyes, he received superhuman abilities after joining the Soldier Enhancement Program. Due to his bravery during the Omnic Crisis, he became an Overwatch commander. However, he soon became disillusioned with Overwatch and started a rebellion, causing an explosion that left him on the brink of death. Rescued and experimented on by Dr. O’Deorain, he became the Reaper, a ruthless mercenary. The experimentation gave him ghostly powers, such as the ability to become an invulnerable shadow, steal health from his enemies, and teleport from one place to another.

Reaper wields two Hellfire Shotguns that are incredibly effective in close range. When Reaper’s Ultimate ability, Death Blossom, is activated, Reaper repeatedly fires his shotguns at targets around himself, dealing a large amount of damage to close-range enemies.
