Background of Heathcliff's Sword
Heathcliff is the leader of the Knights of the Blood in the anime and light novel series Sword Art Online. The Knights of the Blood is the strongest guild in Sword Art Online and consists about thirty high-leveled members that have lots of battle experience. Heathcliff was later revealed as Kayaba Akihiko, who is the Game Master of Sword Art Online.
The Liberator is a templar-styled sword that gives Heathcliff his unique skill "Holy Sword", which allows him to easily switch between offense and defense in battle. As typical for crusader swords, the Liberator has a cross-shaped design signifying its connection to the church.
